How would I know if the phone I buy is compatible? Most of the smartphones these days all look the same. Also if a phone is unlocked shouldn’t it work on all carriers?

Hi, The best way to make sure the phone you want to buy is compatible is to call customer service and have them check the IMEI or DEC number. They will be able to let you know if the phone is compatible with your service and if it is clear to activate (not reported lost or stolen).

As for unlocked phones not all carries accept unlocked phones on their service. For example Sprint only allows Sprint phones to be activated on their service.
